Steven Bye, 14, and 18-year-old Mikhail Checkley were hit as they were walking along the A6116
Brigstock bypass in the early hours of Saturday and were declared dead at the scene.
The two friends, both from Desborough, were described as inseparable, with Mikhail seen as a
father-figure to Steven.
Mikhail was a true mate he was there for you, through thick and thin. He loved his mates dearly
especially his little crew he had.
Steven was how you would expect any 14 year old lad to act at that age. He and Mikhail of what I
knew was always together..
Its a truly sad end how these 2 great people had sadly lost their lives.
R.I.P Miky and Little Steve, we will all miss u both and keep u in our thoughts and hearts forever

together most of the time we played together
rain or shine
i was really one of the lads i did
not mind if i got dirty or climbed
i love to make thing and play firght to
me and micky have the most speacial bond to
we allway smile when each orther came near
as he lived in desbra and i no that never quit near
but what you dont no the funny side to
micky could be like us girls to he loved to cook wash and play
but what we loved to share was a good old book or two
so i never forget the tree house play the apple firght and the smelly pig sty but that what made it grate we saw each orther as the same micky would never dream of pushing me a way he never 1 told i could not play as i was girl and not the same i love him so much it hurts to say i keep thinking he walk throught my fount door like he used to allways but mick was a chamer to he new how to help and put a good old smile on your famce too
